You just bought it a month ago, and it's still quite young. It needs time to settle in and realize that you're not a threat.
In the mean time, you might try offering its favorite prey items by hand. He'll come around eventually (maybe), just depends on his individual personality. The idea is to get him to think of you and your hand as not so much a threat, and more of as a dispenser of treats.

im not trying to insult you but isnt that a bit cold hearted? if you had a cat what lose a leg would you give it away. Some panthers are very agressive, its their nature, it isnt their fsult. You should of known this before. Do you want it to be silly tame, you be able to pet it and stuff? Most chameleons dont like that, and Most chameleons are particually agressive, i dont think chams are for you...

You probably just have a feisty guy. I like the chams that are like that and show some spunk. It is usually a sign of good health. Don't view it as a personal attack he is just doing what comes naturally. If you bring him treats like whichever bugs he likes best when you come to look at him and go slowly and do not push him you may eventually win him over but it takes time.
Chameleons are cautious by nature. If he will not eat out of your hand at first try some long handled tongs or hemostats. Mine was like that at first and now I open the door to clean and he just walks over to me and climbs on me but it took over a year for him to get used to me like that. If you do not have the patience to wait that long or work with him that much maybee you should try a bearded dragon instead. But get a juvenile and start tameing him early on or you could end up with the same problem.
