Hello all,
I've been keeping reptiles for many years. I'm an advanced monitor keeper, and I have snakes including green tree pythons and jungle carpet pythons. I'm also a reef keeper, and propgate many species of hard corals.
Well the monitors have been sold, I'm just burned out. Too big, and they have to be kept outdoors, so they don't add anything to the decore of the house! I have a 92 gallon corner tank sitting in my living room that was a reef until I consolidated everything into my in-wall 150. Anyway, I WAS going to make this into a fully planted poison dart frog vivarium - kind of the terrestrial version of a reef tank. However I decided that with my schedule, I need something lower maintenence. I've always been a lizard guy anyway, and I've always thought collared lizards were particularly beautiful.
So...can someone point me in the direction of sources for these animals? Also, although I'm experienced with much more difficult and demanding animals, I would appreciate ANY tips, links, whatever you folks can share about these animals. Any good desert vivarium links would be appreciated too. I plane on have a few live plants, maybe sage or something.
Do you keep then in trios? One male per enclosure?
Thanks for any help!

Cheers
Jim

of these active, friendly little lizards!

They will look so awesome in a set up the size you talking about.

Yes to one male per enclosure, but you could have 3 females with him. There are alot of things that could be used such as snake plants, aloe, chicks and hens.

here is a couple sites with nice pics as well as great info for you !

Thanks, I can hardly wait to get started!
I'm ordering the materials for the mock rock background I'm making for the back of their inclosure tomorrow. It's a product called "Zoopoxy." I'm also ordering texture pads from another source to help with the surface texture.
I have a 70 gallon enclosure I can use in the interim if I come across hatchlings before it's completed.

Cheers
