Do you think this looks fake?

leogurl Jun 02, 2004 04:44 PM

One cool thing I looked forward to while having to do the 2 AM baby feedings was as the milk warmed I would sneak a peek at my crested gecko. He real active at night and I have caught him in many different areas of the tank. This is what I found one night. I couldn't beleive how cool it looked so I grabbed my digital and had no battery so I grabbed the SLR Canon Rebel and snapped a series of these pictures as my he just hung on his plant. When I got the pic's back I even laughed because I thought boy this looks kind of fake. I have one more image already scanned and on my home computer which is from the other side of the tank so I will add it tonight.
Let me know what you think or if you have seen your geckos do this as well.
Thanks
Joyce

This is the other side of the tank looking in. I have a few other shots but these are the clearest.
Thanks for looking,
Joyce

that is adorable! I've seen squirrels hang like that but never my crested (of course i just got him a week ago so maybe someday ) What kind of plant is that he's hanging from?

I have all live plants in his tank. I am terrible when it comes to remembering plant names. I bought from a nursery and removed all the soil from the plants. I rinsed and soaked them with a bunch of water and then rinsed the leaves with a dilute vinagar and water solution. Then risnsed again with a bunch of water. So far all is well the plants look great and the gecko does too.
Thanks

It may look fake to others, but not me since I also have seen my baby crestie doing this. I think maybe if it was a big fat adult it would look fake to me, but these little babies weigh nothing and it is 100% possible for them to be hanging like this. I guess watching for bugs running below.

LOL Thanks.
Ya I have not seen him hanging like that ever since. He's quite a bit bigger now so your right that's probably why.
Also if I could fake that picture I would probably be working somewhere other then BioPharm.
Thanks
Joyce
