Breeding for color and range overlap for Suri's and Guyanans

SCVReptiles Jun 02, 2004 09:45 PM

Since I've never bred boas I was wondering how much influence do the parents have on their offspring? Can you have two wild-caught animals that are only average looking throw screamer babies? Or is this like so many other areas of breeding that you spend the most you can afford to get the nicest animals to assure beautiful offspring? Also how far do guyanans and surinames ranges overlap in the wild? Do the animals that get imported come from the same areas, or are they two distinct areas of Guyana and Suriname, where you wouldn't get natural occuring hybrids? What is the main difference between the two localities? Thanks for any information.
Ken
