Could all owners of adult RESs please post how large their males and females are. I have read into the average sizes, but I'm just curious to see if most are on the smaller or larger end of the average sizes.

I don't keep any myself, but have been doing adoptions for five years. I've seen one older, full-grown male that was only four inches (he was mostly melanistic and his shell was worn smooth, which is why I think he was older), and I've seen a handfull of males less than ten years old that were seven inches. One four-year old female was eight inches! The oldest female I've seen, which was estimated to be 40 years by NAIB and a feral hit-by-car, was ten inches.

Thanks for your information! That is exactly what I was looking for. I have read about the average sizes, but I wanted to know true life experiences of how large the turtles get. If that makes sense...
