Optimum enclosue size for 1 BD?

smallfry Jun 03, 2004 04:11 PM

And here I thought my Uro's 40G breeder enclosure was absolutely the last tank I can fit into my apartment. :D

I was looking at a 135G tank that's around 72"x18"x25". I know that's plenty long, but should I look for something that's wider?

I like the looks of my 40, how it's wide (fat) and not real tall. When housing a BD, how important is height and width?

the 135gal sounds like a great tank. i have a 75gal, which is fine for 1 dragon. most people will say 6 square feet of floor space is optimal, i calculate 9 on the 135gal so great. width is more important than height, but you have plenty of both so dont worry. thats one lucky dragon who gets that tank!

Width is far more important than height with a BD. The more floor space the better. The 135 gallon would be great for your dragon. I too also like the wide as opposed to the long look of the 40g breeders.
