my little piggy

just thought I'd share a story about my new Ambilobe. I throw in about 20 free roaming crickets a day for him to pick off thru out the day. instead of eating one or two and hunting the other crickets throughtout the day he shoots and grabs one after the other all in a matter of 30 seconds before attempting to chew any of them ...its the funniest thing, I'm trying to get a pic of his mouthfulls. heres one of him sleeping it does not show his colors at all though

This is the WC I got from Ivan. Hephestos has quickly found a way into my heart.

I told you he ate as if he had 2 eyes. All he needs is a lot of food to fatten up and you are obviously providing that.
I agree that the pic is not the best one because his colors can get really intense. I'll see if I can find a few of the old ones I took and send them via email to you so you can use them.

Later,
Ivan

After his shed the blue in his bars turned into this real nice bright blue slightly turquosie(sp)dont know if they ever turned that way in your care or if this is new to the new shed. the best pictures I've gotten so far are on his bad eye side, he keeps the good eye on the outside of the cage. I'll keep trying though....well its time for his dinner so goodbye.

It is well known that chameleons improve their colors after a shed, especially when they are young. WHile I can't be sure of Hephestos actual age, I am sure he is young because of his rostral process and his overall size. He shed twice for us while he was here and now once for you which is remarkable and means he has a lot of growing to do.
His blue was just starting to come in recently as he was solid red barred when we got him and he was all messed up. You will probably enjoy the transformation from red to blue like most of our others did (see Cyclops).

Good luck with him,
Ivan
