not to sound rude but don't mix at all, if you truly do respect each animal for what it is you would keep them each in their own tank and take the time and effort to take care of their indivdual needs. please don't mix its for the best

well. this was the advice of things that could go together i was given..all of them have similar enviroment and food....
thye wont attack each other will they??

amphibianfreak Jun 03, 2004 08:54 PM

it is likly there will be attacks, but there will likly be stress in all the animals too. this will occur b/c they will all be competing for food,. and yes even though all the listed animals have similar emvironmental conditions it is in no way a good reason to mix. even if it is an 80gallon. also how likly do you think it would be for all of these animals to ever meet in the wild. unlikly, the tree frogs are in the branches, the sals are in the dirt, under leaf litter etc. the anols are basking on some branch. i highly recommend you read this article by Devin Edmonds http://amphibiancare.com/frogs/articles/communitytank.html again i hope you reconsider and learn to enjoy each animal in its own environment with its own species

Ok, you have a few problems:

1. African Clawed frogs are poisonous and would kill all your other animals.

2. Anoles live very solitary lives in the wild and do not mix well with other animals (will fight or get stessed, leading to sickness, leading to death). They don't mix extremely well with each other unless they have alot of space, and are different sexes, in which case they still may be stressed.

3. Fire salamanders can grow over a foot long and, if disturbed, will shoot noxios toxins from 2 glands behind the eyes.

4. Fire Newts need lots, and lots of water and spend most of their lives in it. African clawed frogs can only have enough water to cover their shoulders.

5. Have you checked the humidity requirements?

6. The sizes of these animals are all very diferent this will cause great aggression.

7. You're going to have to clean this whole tank out at LEAST once a month, removing all it's contents and cleaning it with animal-fendly substances.

I could give you some more reasons, but I have to go to sleep. Hope you don't put the animals lives at risk!

Hi. From what I have read on african clawed frogs they need more water than shoulder deep. They are to have no more than 12 inches and no less than 6 inches. They are aquatic frogs, they live in water not wade in it. I have alsn never read anything about them being poisinous. They do eat anything that moves, so would probably try to eat most of the animals he wants to put in with them. You need to do more research before you give advice. You obviously havent read much on african clawed frogs. I currently own one and have been doing lots of research on them. They info you gave is wrong. Please check your info before posting. thanks.
