fxtux Jun 03, 2004 09:35 PM

I got her about 2 months ago, maybe 3.. She hasn't eaten a thing.. She's about a bit over a year old.. and the pervious owner was feeding her meal worms.. he had brought her to college and got in trouble for having her there, so he said i could take her. He mentioned she hadn't been eating much while at college. I've tried crickets as well. She drinks.. her tail has become a lot skinnier.. she still poops. help? I don't want her to die

Take her to a vet - she needs to have a fecal test done for worms (which means you need a sample of her feces).

In the meantime, you might try buying some Jumpstart, which is supposed to help stimulate appetites.

Or have you tried giving her Superworms? Silkworms? Waxworms (only as a treat)? They might stimulate her appetite.

Or, go to the grocery store & buy some Chicken Baby Food. Stop by the pharmacy and get a syringe (the kind that you use to give medicine to infants). Mix calcium into the baby food, then put maybe a milliliter into the syringe. Gently hold your gecko so that she can't get away or wipe her mouth on anything.. Then put a bit on the end of her snout - they'll normally lick it off. I've had to even put it over the nostril area before - can't breathe, so they have to lick it off.

Double check that the temperatures are correct. Improper temperatures will influence leo's appetites not to mention cause digestive problems, so you want to make sure it's 88-90 degrees on the floor of the warm side of the tank.
