Ball Python questions and research....

LizardLuva Jun 03, 2004 09:41 PM

I think i want to get a ball python. But in my research i have a few questions...

1. Feeding: Can i keep a Ball Python on Primarily mice? Or another question, how long till they grow big enough to take the largest rats they will take?

2. Is there really anything under 75$ for a morph other than Normals?

3. Looking ahead of time: What do you guys think defines a morph from a variant?

Thanks

Yes. Balls can be fed adult mice their entire lives. However, some may prefer rats to mice.

Balls will normally approach their max size in 3-4 years.

No "morph" can be purchased for under 75$. Male het albinos may be purchased for $200 or so... this is the lowest priced "morph" that I know of. You may get one for lower if you opt for "possible hets".

A "morph" is a distinctive pattern and/or color different than "normal" pattern and/or color AND has a (normally recognizable) inheritance pattern. A "variant" may possess pattern and/or color that differs from the "normal" appearance, but which has not been shown to be inherited.
