Solomon Island Ground boas don't get the credit they deserve. They are so awesome. Oh well, I know there is another forum for them but I like to remind everyone of the wonderful world other boa possibilities.

Sincerely,
Jason

Is she a yearling? I ask because that's about the same size my yearling Isabel is. Lovely snakes and, you're right, terribly underated.

about 1 1/2 years old. She shed for the 2nd time EVER...talk about slow growth.lol. They are fantastic though. Imagine all the colors and morphs of bci/bcc all naturally rolled into a pocket size candoia.lol.

Mine was born early 2003 (somewhere between February & April, if I remember correctly), so just over a year old herself. They are great, as you mentioned because of their small size and varied color phases, as well as their generally docile disposition. I do have one female that is pretty radical, but she's wild caught originally and hasn't tamed down all that much even though I've had her about two years. She was over 2' long when I got her, so she was probably already 2-3 years old minimum. And given what I've since learned about their slow growth, probably a year or more older than that. Still, testy or not, she's a beauty. I'll try to get some pics of her (red phase) but she's less than happy about that and it's usually a contest to see if I can snap a picture before she makes a mad dash for freedom...or sinks her teeth into the nearest appendage trying to prevent her escape. Good thing she's beautiful because her personality sucks! lol The other four SIGB I have are pretty docile though my newest (an '04 baby) is still pretty skittish and tries to get away. It's the challenges in getting the little rascals to eat that are probably the main reason more people don't get into them, but that's one of the things that gives you an incredible feeling of accomplishment when you get them acclimated and eatting for you. I could go on and on raving about them, so I'd better close this now. lol
