A few days ago I saw an Eastern box turtle get hit by a car, the driver saw the turtle and actually swerved to make sure he hit the poor turtle! I stopped to see about the turtle and surprisingly it didn't kill him, but busted him up pretty badly. most of the damage is to the plastron, about a half inch above the hinge is broken, plus the right side of his plastron (the bridge) is badly busted up. A small section of his shell is gone and you can see inside. I will get pics of it and post them sometime today (right now I have him bandaged up and don't want to take it off just for pics but will take pics during his bandage change today). The vets around here don't do "shell repair", but I have heard of it being done using fiberglass repair kits for cars. Does anyone know where I can find more info on how to do this or has anyone here actually done it before? I don't want to give up on this guy, I have grown really attached to him in what little time I've known him, he has an outstanding personality! He's eating, and is active so I believe there is hope for him. Any and all input will be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Christy
