zoomeds driftwood

Bushmaster Jun 04, 2004 07:13 AM

I have bought a piece of driftwood from zoomed and it have fungus growing in it. First I tried to make a full natural vivarium and in the lower parts of the wood was this problem. After it, I washed the log with sodium hypochlorite and I placed it in a delicup with water and java moss for moss covering, but in the humid area next to the water the fungus came back. Anyone knows if the zoomeds driftwood is not recommended to humid places and have tips for me?
Thanks and sorry the bad english.

No, in fact I'm not from USA so I dont know yours type of wood used in terrarium(just when said in the imported product as cholla cactus). I bought this wood in a pack as I said: zoomed driftwood, but no specific name. Please, give me some tips.
Thanks again

Hopefully the mold will go away soon. Most driftwood that could even stand wet conditions do have some mold at first. If you have the cholla cactus, it will deteriorate since its not meant to stand wet conditions. Same with driftwood. maybe if you posted pictures someone might be able to help out.
