Mojave x Lesser Platinum

morphkingreptile Jun 04, 2004 12:21 PM

We just got our first clutch of Mojave x Lesser Platinum 7 eggs
as far as we know this is the first time this has been done.
Our first clutch of Mojave to Pastel will hatch in about 12 days we missed on this one last year maybe we'll get luck this season.

Thanks

Joe & Wes @ MKR

Good work Wes and Joe!! This along with the pastel x mojave are the two designer morphs that I would really like to see happen this summer...Looks like you guys are gonna be havin' babies hatchin' into fall.

True, we have 25 clutches that will all hatch before 8-1-04
I think we will see the Pastel to Mojave cross this season
we have 18 eggs so far we could have a few Pastel Mojaves or none we just have to wait and see!

That's a mojave female, right? Do you have a pic of the mojave and lesser together?

Is that the first mojave female to lay eggs for anyone? It will be very interesting to see what comes out!

On the pastel mojave, with 18 eggs from het pastel X het mojave you have a 99.4% chance of getting at least one pastel mojave IF there isn't a complication such as pastel and mojave being closely linked on the same chromosome. How many pastel X mojave eggs did you hatch last year without a pastel mojave?

Actually now that I think about it a little more linking on the same chromosome wouldn't mater because you are only trying to produce double het mojave and pastels from a het of each. Linking (if they even happen to be on the same chromosome) wouldn't come into effect until you tried to produce a mojave super pastel, a pastel super mojave, or a super pastel super mojave. I suppose there could be some sort of weird interference causing a pastel mojave to be a lethal combination but probably not very likely. I would say that with 18 eggs you are almost certain (994 times out of a 1,000) to produce a pastel mojave this year!

Last year we got 3 eggs all normals from Pastel to Mojave
the pic is of the Mojave female and there is a pic of them breeding on our website.
