Blue Spotted and Spotted

thriveaddict Jun 04, 2004 01:55 PM

Does anyone know if blue spotted and yellow spotted
salamanders can be kept together? I have three yearlings,
two spotteds and one blue spotted all between one and a half and two inches in length. I was planning on separating them when they are older, but while they are young, I figured this is okay since
they are found in the same areas geographically and I am in need
for space. Am I wrong? Also, what is the temp tolerance for these two species? Can it go up to 75 degrees?

In my opinion the two should be seperated now. The Spotted will grow quicker and larger than the Blue Spotted, so why chance it? Toxins are also different. I have both of these in the area where I live and even though you have very young individuals, I'd still seperate them so that they both flourish.
