This year I am attempting to incubate assorted colubrid eggs in one of my spare shoebox (18 clear phillip's tubs) rack system. This is of the style with the heat tape integrated in the back wall of the rack. Snakes have started dropping eggs this week and I have come out with more eggs than anticipated and figured to give the rack a try. If eggs appear to be doing OK I may use all 18 tubs before the season reaches it's end.

Has or does anyone regularly use rack systems like these for incubating eggs? My concerns include inadequate ventiliation as these tubs are not drillable, too large a gradient with heat temps within the tub and also the affect on the eggs of possibly to much light radiating into the tubs.

Any thoughts on this?

Best Regards.....
