FBTs, mating & eggs question

kane65 Jun 04, 2004 06:27 PM

I believe at least one of my FBTs is getting ready to lay eggs. Either that or she's been hogging all the food . There has definitly been a ton of mating going on (I love the cute sounds they make.) Is there anything I need to do or concern myself with? I put moss around the filter intake so that should stop them from getting sucked up.

Thanks for the help.

Well I am definitely not an expert, but from what I have read, if they do lay their eggs, you are supposed to move them into a seperate enclosure, even a tupperware container. And once they get their legs I believe you are supposed to put a rock in for them to climb up on and feed them fish food.
But like I said I am not totally sure!!

Gives me a starting point. Thanks. I'm surprised I haven't seen any eggs. The mating has been going on a lot.
