What a beauty! I have no idea what boas looking like that are worth but I'm sure a lot of people would be willing to pay a lot of money for an animal like that!!

that snake has me drooling. Totally awesome! I'm sure everyone wouldn't be too upset if you posted more pics of it... I would also like to see a full body shot of it's co-star. Best of luck.

The more you know about the history of that animal, the more valuable it COULD be.

Do you know who produced it if captive bred, and when?
If not captive bred, who imported it and when?
If captive bred are you aware of where the parents are?
If captive bred do you have any siblings, and were/are any of the siblings similar?
Was the snake a runt or undercooked/overcooked animal?
What sex is it?

Assumeing now that its captive bred, and the only one of its kind, thats a two way sword. By itself, without any siblings, parents, or other lineadge to work with, the value would be less. Also assumeing its a "one of a kine" that kind of drops its value also, as it quite easily could be a temp thing rather then genetic.

From the looks of that one shot, I would say its easily worth persuing.

Great snake, and I would be interested in knowing more about that animal.

Thanks for the reply. To answer some questions. It is captive bred. Both parents are in town, however all the siblings are normal. But this is the second year in a row that the parents were bred and last year it resulted in one that looks just like this that still looks the same and has done great.

despot101 Jun 04, 2004 11:32 PM

Just to answer some of the questions so I don't need to email everyone. And to clear up a few things. I am trying to find out an apporpriate price for the snake for store-owner friend of mine that bred them. He is not much into the net yet so I said I'd check it out. It maybe for sale that has not been determined. I'll get more pics and info tomorrow but for now.
It's captive b d, the other snake(s) in the pic are siblings.
He owns both parents (noraml appearance). This is their second batch, last years had 1 looking just like this one that has done very well (a male, which he wants to keep for breeding). I might be able to get a few pics of its older brother also. I'll get exact d.o.b. number of siblings and sex tomorrow. Any other info that would be valuable?

*I didnt say right away it was not my snake as I wanted people to take the thread serisouly. Sorry for any confusion. Thanks!*

I would ask for a crazy amount and then see what kind of offers come in.

despot101 Jun 05, 2004 01:27 AM

They might sell 1, but the other older one I want to talk to him about keeping it and trying to get into some more intersting breeding projects.

Are there any other snakes like this out there? I cannot seem to find any? Thanks.

snakemannick Jun 05, 2004 11:22 PM

Yes there are others like it but not exactly, I have called them SUPER TIGER BOAS, and I have offere the first litter all of which where tigers and super tigers for $10,000. I never sold one at that price , people wanted to prove its genetics, and well it has been proven to be co-dominant, I should have babies this summer at a price of $5,000. each for the super tigers, they may even be dominant. I would say by not knowing if it is genetic to could probably get $1,500. minimum for looks but more if proven genetic. Do any of the parrents have any missing saddles? or some striping along the sides? Please contact me I would be interested in buying the snake or co-breeding her to my super tiger boa.
e-mail me at snakemannick@aol.com . don't be undersold. I did not settle for less on my first litter, didn't sell any either but it will pay off in the long run.
Talk to you later,
Nick

snakemannick Jun 05, 2004 11:07 PM
