Update in taming my gecko

Mizar 21 Jun 04, 2004 10:28 PM

I have my gecko for over a month now and i still cant handle him. I can feed him mealies by hand, he goes out of hiding to eat some on my finger (sometimes he miss and take a bite at my finger, lol,i must be very calm so to not to make a rapid move and scare him to death!). I try to be very patient. He still wont climb on my hand. What can be the next step ? Just i have to be still more patient?

Ok, this is probably way wrong to do but it has worked for me...Set you hand into the tank... infront of you leo.. and with your other hand sort of touch him and he will crawl right onto your hand.. If he doesn't then get your hand in a position so no matter what he does, he hassed to come up onto your hand.. It will help show him hey, this thang is a great thing to let touch me... My female she no longer bites me *thank god* she didnt liked to be held.. But she grew over the scared part.. I held her 2 times a day and for 15 minutes each time... My male i have out for hours at a time.. She will become that way once she starts to fall asleep with me... My male he will lay down with me..

Just my ideas.......
