Greek tortoise question

shereettu Jun 05, 2004 01:45 PM

We just bought a Greek tortoise. She looked fine when we first got her. She was eating allright and would move around quite a bit. The temperature in the warm side of the cage is about 95 degrees. The other side is cooler. However, now she has a bit of leakage in her left eye and she sleeps in the warm side all the time. She has not eaten today, we are giving her kale. She just sleeps all day and all night. I'm worried and not really sure what to do. We have only had her for about 3 days. Any advice anyone has would be awesome.

This is without a doubt not normal. For this to occur in 3 days after purchase is even worse. If you bought it from a shop, I would take it back.
Also, I don't think that feeding only Kale is not a good thing. I'd suggest picking up a bag of Spring mix salad for starters and then start doing some research on better stuff.

Oh... a vet visit is probably in order if you can't get who sold it to you to help you out.

Wow! If you have only had it 3 days, don't waste anymore time. Either take it to the vet or back where you got it. It doesn't sound good. Also feed it some greens other then kale. I use romain as a base but mix in lots of other green and some treats from time to time. Go to the web sights that ED listed. They are good sights and will be very helpfull.
Good Luck!!!!
