Should i get another iguana?

mike d Jun 05, 2004 07:29 PM

well in a week or so my uromastyx and my turtles will be going and i will just be left with my iguana. and my dad said since all of my rescues will be gone that i can get another pet! Now i am not a kid i will be 18 in a 2 weeks and i know what i am doing iguana wise

Now should i get another iguana? or should i get something else? i have not been able to find any iguanas up for adoption around me and all of the places say they will not ship one so as of right now i am out of luck..

i have also been interested in starting up a colony of bearded dragons or getting a tegu.. but the tegu wille at me out fo house and home...

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Where are your other animals going?

I'd say go for the iggy. Have you ever thought of a cuban? I still can't get over how cool mine is. My iggys are getting so big . It's like they've doubled in size overnight. Anyway, I put my vote in for an iggy.

Where are you located? I will certainly try to find an adoptable iguana near you. Who have you contacted so far? I know of several rescues that will ship. I'll be shipping a Tegu myself this week, from Michigan to California.

Linda- for rescues i have a painted turtle and a snapping turtle those will be released at the pond that i fish at. i found both of them in my backyard. they came from the swamp that is down my road. but the road is travelled on to much and i dont want them to get hit. and the uromastyx will go to a pet store that is very good with reptiles. i got him from a pet store that was going out of business. and according to a local petshop that i deal with he said that they are illegal in my area. so he has agreed to take him. and either keep it for himself or sell it in his shop.

and for places that i ahve looked i have looked at local petshops and the want-ad.. other thanthat i dont realy know of any other places.. And i would rather it be shipped becasue i am busy with work and dont have time to travel... but my iguana still gets lots of time with me.. i spend over 1 hour a day with him soemtimes more.

Wow, I wish I was close to you. I have been doing research on them. I think they are really cool!
