Old snake terrarium online breeders

Dragor Jun 05, 2004 10:29 PM

Hi everybody I am a new poster but quite an old reader of this forum. I have been building up towards buying a new reptile since the loss of my python and have decided on the wonderful and beautiful bearded dragon =)

My first question is: would I be able to use my old ball python's terrarium (dimensions of: 36"long, 14"wide", 15"deep = approx 33-Gallons in size) as a suitable enclosure for my beardy once it has reached peak size? I spent a good amount of money on this terrarium when I purchased my python and would hate to have to spend money on a new one...

Secondly, can some of you veterns of bearded dragon breeding and keeping let me know about some of the "better" (in the sense of more pure, healthy and exotically colored) breeders online? I would rather not spend too much money to get it direct from Sandfire Ranch, but would like to find a good reputable source for my new pet. Thanks for any and all help!

First of all you made a great decision!!Beardies are much more work than Snakes but their personality and social interactions are well worth it. In my opinion the dimensions are a little small for a full grown beardie, but you could use that for several months until it grows to subadult size. Then I would suggest buying either a 4 ft melamine enclosure or a forty gallon breeder
As far as breeders go there are several good breeders that post here. There is Beardiedragon, Mystical dragons, Halo exotics, Mike (ruejosin), Dragons by Nature, Satyrday reptiles, Dachiu and many others. Oh yeah ME TOO!! AlphaDragonZ!!
Good luck and Good choice!!

Hi AlphaDragon (and BeginnerBasics),

I thank you both so far for the wonderful help with finding breeders online! Alpha, as you suggested my tank would be too small for an adult bearded, so I decided to cancel plans of getting a traditional Inland Beardie. Instead, I will buy one (possibly 2) Lawson's Dragons (so far the only place I've seen that has them is Sundial, anybody know other reputable and consistent Rankins/Lawsons breeders?). In addition, I plan to one day add one or two other small lizard species to make the vivarium full of life... Any help with where to find Rankins and any other suggests about these little guys would be much appreciated.

I do know of other places but Sundial is definitely the most reputable out of the places I know.
