My husband and I have a wild caught Great Basin Gopher Snake that he brought home about a year ago. He's a wonderful snake. We just noticed last night that something looks a little "off" with his mouth. I'm concerned that it may be possible mouth rot. I scheduled an appointment with our Vet, but is there anything we can do until then? Let me know if you know of any home treatments we can try, he's a very gentle and docile snake, easy to handle. Or if there are any signs we should look for to better determine if this is, in fact, mouth rot. It looks like his jaw is slightly crooked on one side, almost as if the mouth is partially opened there and there seems to be a slight dark discoloration in that area.
