I am new to this forum and have been checking out several posts just to gain exposure to snakes in general. But, I have to ask, how di you just "find" two snakes last night? I live in Chicago so I can honestly say I have never heard of anything like that. ha!

It is a local snake here in California. They dont exist in the pet trade to my knowledge so unless you live in their range its not likly that you would know of them, which is why I am spreading the word. The snakes were found by method of road cruising, which means you drive back roads late at night at low speeds and pick up the snakes crossing the road.

If two in one night is a shocker, you should come to South Florida. Even with our depleted wildlife it is still common for collectors to find as many as a dozen or more pernight just by road crusing.

Per species? We find lots of other snakes each night, its the long nose snakes we rarely see and therefore get really excited for.
