Over heted Beardie?

funnyman527 Jun 06, 2004 03:03 PM

Well i live in Arizona, and outside the temp's easily 110 degrees, which doesnt make for an extremely cool inside temp. (probly around 75-80 inside *nice and cool for us Arizonan's *), but i realized that sumthing was bothering my beardie, b/c he just kept trying to dig (i have a papertowel subtrate), so w/o succeeding he ended up just getting under the papertowels and it seemed to me like hiding. So i thought he might be getting too hot, so i turned off his heat lamp (kept the UVB lamp on) and misted down the paper towel he was hiding under. After about 5-10 minutes he's out from under the towel now, but i wanted to kno if the reason he was under there was b/c he WAS too hot? What do you think?

Plz respond ASAP if u kno wuts going on, i dont want a dead beardie tomarrow morning.

well check the temps as soon as you can.If the basking is above 110 lower and if the cold end is higher than 80 lower.

This is most likely the same reason your beardie has been gaping a lot lately. I really doubt it has to do with a hammock. If he is hiding and gaping I'm willing to bet it's too hot for him.
