We have a 12x5 foot pond right outside our kitchen and dining room windows. Every other year we get a brown water snake that "adopts" our pond. Not this year. We have a beautiful ribbon snake that is about two feet long, almost black, yellow stripe on top, and has the most beautiful blue stripe on each side. It is very, very slender. We do not plan to capture it, but plan to watch it all summer. It ate a large tadpole, or small frog the first time we saw it. We have been all over the web, and the only ribbon snake that sounds like ours is one that "is only found in Florida." Problem is that we live in the center of Arkansas!!!! Anyone have any idea of what our friend really is??
Thanks!
