Just came home with a captive bred ball python that my son named "Sammy". He/she seems to be a rather active snake.
It did curl up into a ball once placed in the transport housing and as my son put him into his habitat. But, it has been moving around in habitat quite a bit. There are two distinct hiding places as well as branch, driftwood, and plastic flowers to act as cover. It drank water as well. Now its just resting under some driftwood / plastic flowers.
Its about 15" long, seems to have a strong, well-defined body, no ribs showing, smooth consistent coloration. Has been eating well per the pet shop with the last meal two days ago. It eats frozen mice.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
