plastic plants vs. silk

janome Jun 06, 2004 07:29 PM

I have a 5 foot jungle carpet python that I am moving from a 40 gallon tank to an 80 gallon tank. I want to make it as natural as possible with climbing branches and plants. Will those silk fake plants you can buy at Walmart be ok with snakes?? I just want to try to keep the cost down since those packaged plastic plants at Petsmart/Petco are more expensive.
I searched the forums but didn't see any ones about silk plants in with snakes.
Does anyone have opinions on either....Thanks, Jean

I use the plastic kind - never tried the silk so I can't comment on it. I would guess that the plastic kind might be a bit easier to clean/spot clean.

I have been using silk plants in my chondro enclosures for a long time with no problems at all. If they get soiled you can wash them in mild soap and water without a problem at all.
