I noticed this morning that my panther chameleon has a big red bulge coming out of him, right above his anus I guess. It almost looks like a big bloody blob or something... can anyone tell me what it might be? his eyes are real sunken and I have made a vet appt, I just am curious what this might be or what I may be up against...any help greatly appreciated..

Is it comming out of his anus? It is possible it is a prolapsed intestine or hemi-penis. If it is one of these you will need to some how wrap it in a sterile moist bandage to keep it from drying out until you can get him into the vet. A picture would really help in this diagnosis, but your best bet is to get him to a vet asap. Keep us updated.
hello. I had this on my last chameleon. It is a cloac prolapse (the genitals comes out of the body). It can be happening becouse is dehydrate or he has some parasites inside him. Call for a vet immeadiatly. And another thing... don't let him pass that area in sharp shrubs or sticks.

here are two articles for you to read. take their suggestions on making it and keeping it moist. the sunken eyes are an indication of dehydration - how are you offereing water? what is humidity level?
I would not wait long for the vet - this is an emergency.
