Good weekend for eastern milksnakes

haddachoose1 Jun 06, 2004 09:27 PM

Found a number of very nice adult eastern milksnakes this weekend in Ozaukee Co., WI. Finally starting to warm up and mosquitoes are unreal.

I forgot my camera on Friday (duh) so here's another of the same snake. There were two more that were of similar size. Two big females and one big male.

Here is the nicest of two butleri found in the same general area.

Nice pics, Tim. I was on Bois Blanc Island in Lake Huron last weekend, so didn't get my first milk until today (Cheboygan Co, MI.) Have seen and felt lots of black flies and mosquitoes though..haha...

That's a nice Butler's garter you got also. Hope I can make it over there one of these days. Haven't seen any Butler's, yet, myself, but will probably head downstate this coming weekend for another try

Terry, that is a beautiful milksnake. Glad to see you're out of the blocks!

It has been a good year for me for butleri. I found two more beauties today with only 15 minutes of effort (almost like a lottery ticket). Both were gravid. One had a stubby tail, the other was the nicest specimen I have found to date.

Keep posting pics and give me a call if you're ever in Milwaukee. Not a whole lot around here besides garters though.
