What, if any, are the differences in Olive Pythons according to where they are from, and, where is a good place to see pics of Olive Pythons from different locations. Thanks,
Tony.

Liasis olivaceous olivaceous and L.o.barroni are the two subspecies. You can see some stuff about them on www.liasis.net.
Don't worry about the L.o.barroni. They're aren't any available, nor will there be any time soon.

Hi there,
check out the links and gallery at www.liasis.net
btw. If your not in Oz you actually will never see a L. o. barroni in real

The barroni are one of my dream snakes. I suppose I'll have to move to Oz to have one.

Hi Doug,
well, if you would do so, you shouldn't go to Western Australia because they are not allowed to keep native reptiles as pets! And as these animals only occur at the Pilbara region in Western Australia, you woun't be lucky. But check out the Pilbara Olive Python Project at Michael Tutt's home page (see the barroni links at www.liasis.net). He also has got some very nice pictures of the Pilbara Olives and the habitat.
Cheers,
Wulf

I've been to liasis.net many times to ogle the barroni pics.
As for moving to Oz... maybe I'll just go into the Pilbarra and enjoy the critters in nature.
Thanks Wulf

thanks for the info. guys, that cleared things up a bit. The websites were helpful. But I did not find specific info. on the physical differences between the two. Exept that maybe the Barroni are not quite as big right?
Also like many of you, for sure, I am fascinated by Boelens. How do you pronounce that anyway? Is it Bo-leens, or bo-ellens. Some day I hope to be able to aquire at least one,if not a pair. Later, and thanks again,
Tony.
You need this book. It's by David and Tracy Barker and will answer your questions as detailed as possible and has some great pics too.
the barroni, or Western Olives, are the bigger of the two subspecies and are possibly Australias heaviest snake.
I pronounce Boelens as bo-lens. Don't know if it's right and really I prefer to call them either "boeleni" or "Black Python" when I'm talking about them. Neat snakes too.
