Eggs as food items

cooljosh Jun 07, 2004 07:50 AM

Eggs are supposed to be on the menu of wild Pituophis species, has anyone included fresh eggs in the diet of captive Pituophis animals?

I know of several folks that have fed eggs in the past, but we never have. First because a diet of good rodents will keep a pit or any other snake for that matter healthy and viable. So there is no need for the introduction of any other type food. Second is that eggs cause the fecal deposits of snakes that eat them to smell to high heavan. LOL

Good Luck,
