what kind of uro?

Nicki Jun 07, 2004 10:29 AM

I have the opportunity to perhaps get some ornates, moroccans, hardwickii or egyptians.

I'd like to breed them, as my malis and saharans are still much too young. Which breed do you think (looking purely for opinions) might be most marketable in Canada right now? I've mostly only seen malis and saharans in Ontario. I love ALL of the species, and would eventually like to have all of them, but am curious as to what you think will be more popular.

Thanks!

Being from Nova Scotia all we see here is the very occasional mali in the local pet stores. I have been interested in ornates and would love to see some of these become available in Canada.
Right now I have one mali and three saharans and am in the process of getting two somalis.

At the Mississauga Reptile show (in May I think), there was a guy who was selling some ornates. He said that he didn't want to separate them so I couldn't buy just one. I didn't have that kind of money or that much room for that many uros.
Hope you get lucky this time

I believe there is a market for most Uro's.Since they don't mature that fast and only lay one clutch they probably are not bred that much because of the low profit to make.If you are looking for Hardwicki I believe Gillards Herps have some for sale.
