Bully Anole

smeagol85 Jun 07, 2004 01:30 PM

I have 3 green anoles, and from the start they seemed to get along just fine. However, about a month ago, one of them (the biggest one) started intimidating the other two (bobbing his head, inflating his throat pouch, etc.), and I am afraid that he is scaring them into not eating properly. He is the only one that seems healthy, not to mention green all the time. The other two are constantly brown and they have gotten very thin, and just today I noticed that the smallest of the three has a light blue patch on the corner of his mouth. Are my lizards going to die on account of a bully?

They might get sick or die if they are being intimidated by the larger one. Your best bet will be to separate the bully into his own tank - he won't be lonely, and the other two will do much better.
