Taylor Co., FL Eastern Kings...two finds yesterday

Sean Jun 07, 2004 01:54 PM

Went out to a spot where I found a female Eastern King in Taylor Co., FL last year and I'd really like to get a male to pair up with her. Well I didn't find a male but did end up with these two females. I think the first one may be gravid. If so, then I'll get my male.

This second one is one of the most beautiful Eastern's I've seen. She has perfect bands from head to tail too!

I'll post more pics after they both shed.

Looking forward to the photos after they shed. They both look very healthy.

They both look very healthy.

Yeah they both have very nice body weight. The first has a skin problem though which I'm starting to treat.

Sean those are both great looking snakes ! I hope that one female is gravid so I can maybe talk you out of a baby or 2

I'll let you know if she lays eggs Keith. If so, I should be able to get you a pair.

Pierson Hill actually found both of these. The second one I watched him jump and grab about 20 feet in front of me! The female found last year in Taylor Co. was found by Pierson as well. He came up behind me and said I had something on my ear as he held the snake behind me. And the female Eastern I have from Wakulla Co. was also found by Pierson. We hit a spot where we found a male Eastern not even a month earlier and as I'm looking down on the ground, I said to myself "Man I wish we could find a female". Pierson said "You mean like this?" and I look up to see him holding a female he just picked up. That's just not fair. But I'm not complaining.
