Hi, I'm looking around for another snake and was wondering if someone can help me out. I am looking for a snake that's not a colubrid, gets bigger than 4 feet but less than 10 feet, and is a snake that you can handle a lot (I don't care if it's an aggresive snake I just want one that doesn't get stressed when handled like tree boas.) It also has to be less than $200.00. I know this is a lot to ask but please give me some ideas.
Thanks in advance

First of all, what's wrong with colubrids? You're missing out on some great snakes by limiting yourself that way. Second, how much experience and time do you have?

go with a carpet python.all i had kept before this snake was native wild caught US species and my carpet seems to be doing very well.also you really are missing out on colubrids as this includes bull snakes, these are some of the neatest ones in that family.

Oh no, I love colubrids, I have a gray-banded kingsnake, speckled kingsnake, and a tangerine honduran milksnake. I only have one boa and no pythons, that's why I want something that isn't a colubrid. I have about 4 1/2 years with keeping and dealing with snakes.

I agree that colubrids are very fun, but its nice to have some variety too.

Brazilian Rainbow Boa:

- 5-6ft
- Large terrestrial cage that is warm and keeps humidity in
- Generally docile when held as a juvenile, and most adults settle down too

Jungle Carpet Python:

- 5-7ft
- Large cage with good heating and moderate humidity
- With some patience they settle down very quickly

Other ones to check out: Dumerils Boas, Childrens Pythons, and other Carpet Python species (reg carpet, coastal, iran jaya).

Currently have:
0.1 Antherystic Elaphe guttata - Corn Snake
1.0 Elaphe vulpina gloydi - Eastern Fox Snake
1.1 Morelia Spilota Cheyni - Jungle Carpet Python
0.1 Leucistic Elaphe obsoleta linheimeri - Texas Ratsnake

Saving for:
Agkistrodon Contortix mokasen - Northern Copperhead
Epicrates cenchria cenchria - Brazilian Rainbow Boa

Brazilian rainbow boas are nice looking, fit in your size and price requirements, and since you've been keeping snakes for a while, you'd be up to their habitat needs. Dumeril's would be great also!
Cheers!
