lilroach56 Jun 07, 2004 03:47 PM

Of all the cresties you offer up for sale, i drool at the thought of owning one of them. would you care to show us some pics of your holdbacks?

also,
the orange tiger i bought from you a month or so back, i was wondering what you would suggest i breed him/her to?
here is a (semi-non blurry) recent pic

here is a good pic of the color (on green repti carpet)

Jake,

You'd be surprised. Due to time and space constraints, I don't hold nearly as many back as I'd like to. I've been busy with other things (snakes hatching, work, etc.), but I'll do a photo session in the next couple weeks.

As for the Tiger, he/she is turning out pretty nice. Just wait until it starts getting its adult coloration. I like breeding them to many things because of all the combinations that can be produced, but Tiger x Fire (or Harlequin) is probably one of my favorite combos.

Here's one that's about 6 weeks old.

Hey Anthony.....have you considered starting the "black" line of cresties at all?

First of all, I don't believe that a jet black Crested exists From what I know, they are dark brown geckos that get darker at times. While I can see the appeal that may have to others, that just doesn't appeal to me. I also understand that a true black crested could be developed through selective breeding and I'm sure that one day it will, but it's just not something that I would be personally interested in as a hobbyist, which is what I truly am.

My taste in Cresteds pushes me towards brightly colored geckos with busy patterns and I put a lot of effort into producing offspring with those qualities. Considering that my goal is to produce the most brilliant red/orange harlequins and partial pinstripes, I just don't feel like breeding for black/patternless geckos would be something that I'd like to do.
