Please help with tank ideas for Anoles

ReganZ24 Jun 07, 2004 06:00 PM

Hi

What do you guys /girls think about mixing anoles and Tiger Salamanders?? 77 gallon tank....3 salamanders, 2 anoles..

I have researched it and they require same lighting, food, temptures, etc....
And was told they woudl work together by several people........

Thoughts and ideas before I do this

also, can someone give me a basic outline on what Anoles need in their tank?? and how big they get??

Instead of me going on and on about my opinions let me direct you to http://www.kingsnake.com/anolecare/

I will give you a little bit of an opinion though
Can they be housed together in that big of an enclosure? Sure as long as it is TALL so that they can get up and away from the salamanders. Things they need are branches and leaves to hide in. A major problem I see would be competiton for food in this type of enclosure again a TALL enclosure. A long one will not work in my opinion. Hopefully someone else will chime in with one. The link below will give you a very good idea on what they need.

Thank you for the advice...the site was for helpful..
The tank i'm getting is very high..
I was told by the guy at the store that the salamanders eat at night...and anoles during the day...so competetion for food should be minimal...But then again, the pet store tols me this..
anyone wiht ideas, advice??

Can i put soem water int he tank, not much or deep with anoles...if i have branches around it??
