I ALWAYS keep my males seperate. My males will fight like crazy even in a 125 gallon tank.

Why would you NOT want to put them together?? Have you ever let them finish the fight?? I put a rival male in a breeding set up to stir up the "juices".. to establish a dominant male! Once this fight was over.. the winner wanted to breed with all the females!

After they chased each other around in the water they climbed up on land and got after it for awhile..

FIRST THEY WRESTLED...

THEN THEY DECIDED TO FIGHT.. RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE GIRLS...

THEN THEY FINISHED IT IN THE WATER...

It was brutal.. and when they were done.. I had 2 males that were all "juiced" up and ready to breed. I returned the "loser" to his set-up where he was ready to go!

That's why you DO put 2 males together!

Any other Q's.. drop me a line.

Thanks.. Terry
