My first Boa - a Columbian Red Tail

gardenmum Jun 08, 2004 09:41 AM

Well, I have had corn snakes now for a couple years and love them. Have about 100 eggs in the incubator. But I have been thinking of getting a red tail for a while and was in the local pet shop getting other pet supplies and like always went over to look at the reptile section. I had never seen Red Tail Boas there before but they had four of them and this one I fell in love with. He was much, much lighter than the others and had a lot less pattern on him and I couldn't resist him, so he came home with me. He is very calm and doesn't mind being held and has already eagerly eaten a F/T meal for me. Very cool snake.

And one more. I love this shot. He was sleeping between the water disha and the side of the container and it was soo cute the way his nose was under his body.

I linked them from my web site, maybe that is why. I just put them on PetHobbyist and will load a couple from there. Maybe that will work better.

Thanks. Yea, I liked his light color. At first when I only saw part of him I thought it was an anery, then when he slithered around into full view I realized he had some color, just not much. Yeah, I really like him.

That is a nice looking snake. I hope you have a Large house with lots of room for caging. Once the Boabug bites you will be loaded with these animals in a Very short time.
good luck with this one and the 10,000 to come.
Boas have to be the Sweetest animals in the world.

LOL....well I don't have that much room so I don't think the bug will do too much biting. I already got bit by the corn bug and have 52 of them. Doesn't leave a lot of room for these big guys so maybe a girl sometime along the line but that will be all that will fit in my herp room.

But I do love this little guy and they certainly are extremely sweet snakes!!!! Not sorry I picked him up at all.
