I would go with the pit. Their size, demeanor, and feeding habits really get me. Besides, everyone has had a milksnake. Only the cool people keep Pituophis

Northerns, for me, have always had a great personality. Mine are some of the friendliest pits I have ever owned or have met.
Milks are cool, but there are millions of those. Pits, to me, are much better. They get better colors with age, not as flighty ( for me ), have much more locale info and locale bloodlines, and just overall, make for better pet snakes in my opinion.
Here is one of my northerns, Solomon, my golden retriever of my snake collection.
But, milks are cool and some are very pretty. Just buy everything you like!!!!!!!!!!
Take care!

Yeah....he will hang with me for hours, either sleeping on my arm or just chill as I carry him around with me. BUT, he does not like to jump in ponds after ducks I shoot or go fetch the paper. LOL!
Are you referring to the HOT show in San Antonio? Nope.
How is Houston??

Houston is rainy...and it should be for another week. We herped the coast last night looking for some Farancia or Thamnophis sirtalis, neither of which is too common. All we turned up were a couple of DOR's, one barely AOR missip. green water, and hundreds upon hundreds of bull/leopard frogs and gulf coast toads. No Hyla. Qutie disappointing. We are going to go get some eggs soon from a buttermilk racers "nest" as there are tons of fireants in the area. That is if they didn't wash away. Take it easy bro and how are things up north?

Do you have any spots you'd care to share? My best spot is now unreachable thanks to Claudette last year. Used to find Atrox there by what seemed like the dozens.
I won't post them, but if you email me you are welcome to come with my friend Scott and I next time we go out. As a rule, I don't really just tell people about spots (no offense...it's just that I am afraid they will get sacked because some herpers do not have morals). So shoot me an email sometime at Snakeguy88@aol.com. I will be gone for the weekend but will probably get out sometime next week.
