Hey eve...

I went Sunday to pick up a new 135 gallon tank for my tegu at a herp show back home. Right next to the tank display was a guy selling a bunch of geckos and some misc lizards. It was late and he had a sign that said "prices void, make offer" I, of course, couldn't resist looking around and I found a male emerald swift! Against my better judgment I offered him $5 for the guy. So now I have an emerald swift. I just adore him already. I have a 20 gal tall tank for him and will either move him to a 29 tall when I move next month or buy a large screen cage. How do you have your pair set up? Humidity levels? His coloring is brilliant and looks very healthy, I wouldn't have bought him otherwise.

Yeah, the males are brilliant, you also got a great buy,

Can't beat 5 bucks!!! I have mine in a 65 gallon reptaruim, they love it, they can run anywhere, up the sides bottom top, they can hang on the bottom.

I have many limbs in there for climbing, a few plants, such as pothoes, and some other green thing, hehehhee !

A piece of small slate on half bricks for a hide.

Sandy soil substrate.

Anyway, I do not go by some of the care sheets, and there are not many anyway! They say to keep them hot. I do not use a basking light at all.

These guys live in higher mountain elevations where it is cooler.

I let them have the heat of the reptile room which is warmer enough.

I do have a long uvb across the whole top of the reptaruim. They will hang right underneath it when they want any more warmth.

I have it near a window too, so lots of light ! I mist them and plants in the early morning and evening. They love to lick the drips off plants or whatever, they prefer to see the water move.

Mine love crickets, waxies and superworms.

If ya check out on my site photos (under other lizards) you will see the reptaruim pic.

I wish ya luck with him, I'd ask for a pic but hey I'd be waiting till I no longer am able to see , hehehhehe LOL

Hey I take offense to that comment! LOL I will not hook up my camera until I move in July and get my own computer, so it may be a few months until more pics! I think you will survive until then!
