this species is currently in taxonomic limbo.
For now it is Necturus species cf. beyeri

Thanx. We searched for the Red River waterdogs in eastern OK at the locations you suggested, but didn't score. Thanx for the thoughts anyway. These were found in streams in central LA. rdb

I'm going to try the Minnesota River here in a couple of weekends. We're goint to the Root River Sunday, but it's just a day trip, so I doubt I'll see anything there.
