Is it common for a boa to have lots of speckling on its sides, but a clean top?...more

I have a 5ft female columbian that I'm curious about. She has a lot of speckaling on her sides...black, light tan, dark tan, and pink. It looks mostly pink with it getting darker the closer you get to her tail. Her tail sadles are jet black with a few pink areas in them. What is funny is that her top has almost no speckaling. Just a very uniform light tan color. At the end of her top sadles (where you often see the light spots) the speckaling begins with a vengeance, and fades to mostly pink by the time it get close to her belly scales. It is almost like the marbled blood look, but not that pronounced.

The other columbians I have do not look like this at all. However, they are all under 3 ft and maybe this shows up with age? I just don't understand why the top is so "clean" if the sides are that speckled. Any info would be appreciated.

Hard to say if the markings on your boa are common or not with out seeing a picture or the snake in person. Many Northern Colombian Boas have a great deal of speckeling on them, both belly and sides, while others have clean white/cream bellies and hardly no speckeling.
Sorry, I know this offers no help, But I did not want to leave you unanswered again LOL. A no help answer is better then none at all, I guess
Good Luck
