Does anyone know the rules on these in Florida? Do you need a permit? I have been browsing looking for info but there isn't alot out there. Thanks.

all hognose are allowed in Florida. The law is anything venomous is not allowed. False water cobra's were allowed up untill reciently they were added to the list along with vine snakes.

north american hognoses are legal in florida.
but that is far from a madagasgar giant venomous hognose!
The poster is flat out wrong and should be noted as such.
A venomous permit is required for this species!
A giant hog has real working fangs unlike the north american hognose.

Actually Budman, that is one of the snakes (like Diadem racers)that still slips through the cracks. I have frequently seen all three species of Madagacar Hog sold in shops and at shows in S. Florida.
It's an OOPS! situation.
