bad sheds are a food issue not usually a humidity issue........

You're not keeping your snake in a "fish-cage" are you? Because 9 times out of 10, that is the problem.

I keep mine in a 30x12x12 creative habitats tank
i got that same problem, espeically when i got the heat lamp on, i stopped using it. humidity would drop to the 40's, until i misted it, then it would go into the 60 sometimes 70's then drop witht he lamp on. right now its around 60-65 with no lamp, just UTH

Give it a humid hide.....sweater box/shoebox sized plastic box, entrance hole cut in the lid. Fill it with soaked then squeezed out spaghnum moss (long fibered, not pulp- I get it at garden centers) and then it can go in there to get moist when it needs. You will need to mist the moss every few days. Forget about misting the whole cage. To me that is just asking for rot. This way the snake can choose. If it is in a tank, cover much of the top with plexiglass or something solid to block humidity escape.

I know this sounds a bit off, but when my BPs are getting ready to shed (i.e. eyes are cloudy), I put a clean, warm, damp wash cloth on the bottom of their tank on the warm side and I make sure the water in the water dish is clean and luke warm. They never hang out on the wash cloth, but it increases the humidity and I haven't had a bad shed since.

Good luck!
