My albino keeper

AbsoluteApril Jun 09, 2004 02:13 PM

Hi there...
just wanted to share these pics of my male albino keeper
from my '03 litter of hets and albinos.

It's hard to tell in most of these pics but he is bright pink!
my pics always come out over-exposed. lol

What should I name him?

I have 2 other albinos from this litter, they were very pale and light
when born but have turned a really bright pink however their
saddles and tail color are not nearly as defined as this guy..
I am thinking of keeping one of those just to see how they
turn out. Anyone reared up albinos have an idea which baby
would turn out with the most color?
I don't have any recent pics of the other male, he just shed
I'll try to get one later.
Thanks for looking!!!

I've just been busy taking care of my unworking b/f, you know,
after doing my 8 hours at work I come home, do the dishes
from the night before, make dinner, do some laundry and try
to "sqeeze" in an hour or so for tv and snake time to relax
and sometimes walk the dog too. so I haven't been online much at all!
I miss it... I am so out of the loop!

Other than all that, things are ok! It will be better once
I am not the sole-source of income that's for sure, haha
How's it going with you Jim? Thanks for writing! It's
nice to still see some familiar faces

I always prefer the babies w/ the most color because I tend to think they'll have the most chance of keeping it later on. A strong pattern doesn't usually fade as much as the babies that have really faint patterns at birth. If your babies are gaining more color as they grow, that is a good sign, and you might want to hang onto them both for awhile longer to see what happens!

Hi Amanda,
I can't decide if I want to keep 2 of them, well, I *want* to
but I don't know if I should!
The bright pink saddled male is deff. a keeper, my logic
is along the same lines as yours... I think he has a better
chance of keeping color as an adult.
The mother albino is deep yellow with white saddles and small
amounts of pink 'highlights' on her face and the edge of the
first 5 or so saddles.
I guess I'll have to decide if I can spare an extra cage.
take care

keep every baby we ever have! So naturally, I'd encourage you to do the same!

this pic is before his most recent shed, he's more pink now.
But you can see how his saddles are very faded and the tail
color is very light, it is a dramatic difference from the other
male.
hmm... keep one, keep both??
