UNUSUALLY ACTIVE BOA

SPIDERCREW Jun 10, 2004 06:24 AM

I HAVE A BOA THAT IS 6 1/2 FEET LONG & I HAVE HAD HER SINCE SHE WAS A HATCHLING..... I TOOK HER OUTTA HER ENCLOSURE 2 DAYS AGO FOR A WHILE TO CLEAN IT AS USUAL... EVER SINCE THAT SHE HAS BEEN UNUSUALLY ACTIVE.... ALL DAY & NIGHT TRYING TO GET OUTTA THERE!! IT IS STRANGE FOR HER CUZ I HAVE HAD HER FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS & I HAVE NOT SEEN THIS MUCH ACTIVITY AS OF YET... I HAVE NOT CHANGED A THING... SAME FEEDING SCHEDULE, 4 LARGE RATS EVERY OTHER WEEK & SAME SCHEDULE OF EVERYTHING ELSE TOO... BUT EVERY TIME I LOOK AT HER ENCLOSURE SHE IS EITHER LOOKING AT THE TOP OR TRYING TO ESCAPE?! IT IS REALLY STRANGE CUZ SHE USED TO JUST HANG OUT ALL COILED UP IN THE SAME SPOT FOR DAYS AT A TIME, BUT NOT NOW, SHE IS CONSTANTLY ON THE MOVE... I DUNNO IF I SHOULD BE WORRIED OR WHAT...

Hi, man that cap locks button is a mother huh? Anyway, I do not beleive you should be concerned, I noticed all my boas tend to roam their enclosures more actively after being handled or after being outside longer than usual. I think it has some sort of stimulating effect on them and once back in their mundane world they would obviously much rather prefer to be out again. Just my take on it )

THANKS, I KINDA FIGURED THAT TOO... BUT I HAVE HAD HER SO LONG & THIS IS DIFFERENT IN A WAY... BUT IT'S TRUE I HAD HER OUT FOR A WHILE THE OTHER DAY IN THE WARM WEATHER & OUTSIDE--SO I GUESS SHE WANTS MORE... I'LL LET HER OUT AGAINTODAY FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS & TRY TO MAKE HER A LIL MORE HAPPY....

I USED THE SAME STUFF LIKE ALWAYS... MILD SOAP WITH AN ANTIBACTERIAL SPRAY BEFORE & RINSED IT OFF WITH MILD SOAP & WATER.... BUT TO BE SAFE I JUST CLEANED IT OUT WITH MILD SOAP & THEN JUST WATER... I'LL LET HER RESTLESS ASS STAY OUT FOR A FEW HOURS THEN PUT HER BACK & SEE WHAT'S UP...

THANKS AGAIN
