CollardGuy Jun 10, 2004 11:18 AM

Are they easy to keep? Can they be housed with Green Anoles?

Great pets I am sure though I have never owned one, and as far as I know their care is VERY similar to dang near exact to the green anole as far as care.
Should you keep them with green anoles? Though some will say it is ok to do so I say you should not. Unless the perfect conditions are met.

(perfect conditions explained) All of this is just personal opinion anyone chime in with their own please....
Situation 1 male green 1 female green with 1 Cuban female added at later date(NEVER put two males together.....ever) Now you would need at least a 40 gallon and it would have to have PLENTY of hiding spots. You would have to add 10 gallons per anole ESPECIALLY when mixing. Hiding spots for all on both the cool and hot side are needed hence why I say 40 gallon for only three oh yeah and it should be tall if possible... So then and only then would I recommend you mix green with Cuban Anolis Sagrei.....
All you need to know about anoles

I have had Green Anoles in the past but I currently own a Cuban Brown that was a rescue. It was fairly young when I got it and I have had it for about 7 or 8 months. The one thing I have noticed is that this animal has NEVER gotten used to me.

I know you never really tame them but the Greens had all gotten very used to me and would get on my hand with no trouble. To this day, this animal is very wild. She is so at home in her tank though. I can even leave the cover off for a long time and she won't try to escape but if I so much as peek around the corner into the room, she runs and hides and won't come out for a couple of hours.

I don't know if this is normal for Browns but I had read that they are a bit more skittish. I know this one is.
