Rheostat wiring

I've started using 600w wall dimmers for my rheostats. Do I need to connect the ground (green wire) to anything? Thank you.

No. You don't "need" to connect the green wire to anything. It's a good idea to use a ground because it lowers the chances of a person getting shocked, but your device will certainly work, and be safe, if you ignore the green wire.

any time you plug in a device with a two pronged plug instead of a three pronged plug, that device is ignoring the green wire. Don't sweat it.
